A family on an iPhone is not told you are here

On an iPhone only a page added to the Home Screen can send notifications. The page still chimes while it is open.

On an iPhone, Safari lets a web page send notifications only if the family has added it to their Home Screen. Your page says so when they tap Tell me when he is here, and does not pretend.

What still works on any iPhone:

  • Keep the page on screen. It chimes and shows that you have arrived the moment Taxista knows you are there.
  • Messages. The family can message you from the page, and you can message them from the job.
  • Add to Home Screen. In Safari: the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Opened from there, the page can notify them like an app.

On Android phones the page can notify them straight from the browser.
