Agreeing to these terms

A passenger agrees to these terms and the privacy notice by asking a driver for a ride or sending a message from a driver’s page; the page says so beside the button, the first time. A driver agrees in the app before set-up finishes. We record which version you agreed to and when (this one is 2026-10-15). If we change these terms in a way that matters, we ask again.

What Taxista is

Taxista gives a taxi driver a page and a card. A passenger who has the card can ask that driver for a ride from the page. The driver decides whether to accept and at what price. He may pass a request to one of his backup drivers, other Taxista drivers he has named, and when he is not working a request may go straight to them.

What Taxista is not

  • We do not allocate rides, set or suggest prices, rank or rate anyone, or let anyone find a driver they were not given a card by.
  • The contract for a ride is between the passenger and the driver. The price on the page comes from the driver’s own tariff: a range he confirms, or his own fixed price for a place he has priced. Where the law requires the meter, the price is what the meter shows at the official tariff, and the page says so: the figure it shows is an estimate. Passengers pay the driver directly. Card payment in the page is not available yet; when it opens, it will go into the driver’s own Stripe account and Taxista will never hold the money. A ride taken by a backup driver is paid to that driver.
  • We take no fee and no share of any ride. Asking for a ride, the page and messages are free to drivers and passengers.
  • Every driver starts with a free month of Pro, from us. No payment is taken and no plan is chosen for it; when the month ends Pro stops, unless you have chosen a plan in Google Play. Nothing renews by itself.
  • Drivers may buy Taxista Pro, a subscription sold and billed through Google Play, monthly or yearly. A plan you choose renews until you cancel it in Google Play; cancelling keeps Pro to the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds follow Google Play’s refund policy. Months of Pro you have earned through Taxista (an invitation, a founding-driver year) are kept and start after a paid subscription ends. When Pro ends your page, your guests and your trips stay; the Pro features switch off until it starts again.

Drivers

  • You must be 18 or over to use the driver app.
  • You must hold whatever permission your town requires for the work you do. A page found to belong to a driver who does not is switched off.
  • Your page shows what you put in set-up. Keep it true; the plate on the page is how a passenger knows the car.
  • You may close your account at any time from set-up, from the delete-account page, or by writing to team@taxista.app.

Passengers

  • Ask for a ride only when you mean it. A driver who comes to a pickup and finds nobody may mark the request as a no-show. Where the meter runs from when the driver accepts, the passenger then pays only what is on the meter.
  • The page is the driver’s. Treat messages to him as you would a message to any person.

What may not be sent

Messages, names, photos and shared places are for arranging rides. On either side, you may not send:

  • threats, harassment, bullying, or anything meant to frighten or demean someone;
  • hate towards anyone for their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, sexuality, gender identity, age or nationality;
  • sexual content of any kind, and anything that sexualises a child;
  • violence or self-harm shown or encouraged, or anything that helps commit a crime;
  • someone else’s personal details without their agreement, or a pretence to be someone you are not;
  • spam, advertising, scams or links meant to deceive.

This content is forbidden. Sending it breaks these terms.

Blocking and reporting

  • A driver can block a family from the app. From then on the family cannot ask that driver for a ride or send him a message, and an open request from them is declined. A driver can unblock at any time.
  • A ride he has already accepted carries on after a block, and messages are refused; the driver can still cancel that job himself.
  • A driver can report a family from the app, with or without blocking them.
  • A passenger can report a problem from the page’s message thread (Report a problem), which writes to team@taxista.app with the ride’s reference, or by writing to us directly.
  • We read reports every day. When a report shows content forbidden above, we may delete it, switch off the driver’s page or the family’s session, and keep what the law requires us to keep. Where someone is at risk, or the law requires it, we pass what we have to the police. Reports are kept for 180 days.

Service and liability

Taxista is provided “as is”, without prejudice to the rights the law gives you as a consumer. We do our best to keep it running and honest, and we are not a party to any ride. Where something is still being tested, the app or the page says so on the screen. Roscas App (UK) Ltd is registered in England and Wales (company no. 17135474, registered office 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX), and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Spain or elsewhere in the EU, this does not take away the protection of your country’s mandatory rules or your right to go to its courts.

Legal information

The service is provided by Roscas App (UK) Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 17135474, registered office 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Contact: team@taxista.app. Taxista is a communication tool between a driver and his customers: the taxi service is provided by the driver, under his licence, with his meter and his complaint forms; where the official tariff is compulsory, the fare is the official tariff. Taxista charges passengers nothing.
